About our courses

What is an intensive course?

Our intensive courses involve longer driving lessons, with each session lasting a minimum of two hours and a maximum of five hours. Typically, you’ll take lessons several days per week, with our most intensive course structure involving lessons every day. It is, however, possible to opt for a semi-intensive course, which is easier to fit around a busy schedule—an example of this would be taking two-hour sessions on given evenings.

What's included in a PassMeFast course?

Our driving courses offer everything you need to help you pass. This includes:

  • One-on-one tuition from a local, DVSA-approved driving instructor
  • Lessons that fit around your schedule
  • Home and workplace pickups
  • Support at every step from a dedicated Booking Agent
  • A fast-track practical test in the final hour of your course

We have a wide range of courses to suit all learners, from short refreshers for those with plenty of experience to comprehensive packages for beginners. Check out our driving courses rundown for full details on each, or visit our course recommender to find your ideal choice.

Which course should I choose?

We have nine different courses to choose from. You can find full details on all of them by visiting our driving courses rundown. When choosing your course, be mindful of your current driving ability and the experience you will need to gain in order to pass your test.

According to the DVSA, it takes an average of 45 hours of driving tuition to get up to test standard. If you are a complete beginner, we would therefore recommend taking one of our longest courses in order to ensure you are adequately prepared for the test. If you have more driving experience, a shorter course is likely to be more suitable. You can also call us on 0333 123 4949—our sales team will help you to determine the right course for you.

It’s also possible to take a course assessment with one of our PassMeFast instructors. This is a one-hour lesson where the instructor will honestly and critically assess your level of driving ability. At the end, they’ll recommend you the course best suited to your needs. You can book a course assessment online or over the phone for just £30.

What if I need to add more lessons on?

It is usually possible to add more hours onto your course if required. To add extra hours during your course, get in contact with your Booking Agent.

What if I don't use up all of my course hours?

If you end up taking fewer lessons than you booked, you can use these for further tuition. In some circumstances, it may be possible to receive a refund equivalent to the instructor’s fee for the unused hours.

Not sure how many hours you need? Try our course recommender for a personalised quote.

Do I need to save an hour from my course for the practical test?

If you book a course that includes a practical test, then the final hour will automatically be reserved for your test. For example, our 48 hour course would include 47 hours of lessons, plus the practical test.

In certain cases, more time may be reserved for the test. Should this be necessary, your instructor will discuss this with you ahead of time.

I’m a nervous driver – is this course right for me?

Nervous drivers are welcome at PassMeFast. Our experienced, DVSA-approved instructors’ friendly and patient approach to driving tuition should help you feel more at ease behind the wheel.

Our courses are accelerated, but never rushed. If you prefer, you can take your course at a semi-intensive pace, meaning that you don’t have to sacrifice your schedule for your lessons.

Throughout your course, your instructor will pay careful attention to your progress, providing the guidance you need to help you become a safe and confident driver. Don’t worry—you’re in good hands.

Can I choose the number of hours of lessons I take per day?

Our courses are fully flexible. Together with your instructor, you’re free to decide on a lesson plan that works for you, helping you to pass fast even on a busy schedule.

Do I have to do the course intensively?

No! Our courses are flexible and can be structured to suit your needs. Depending on your schedule and instructor’s availability, it’s possible to take as little as two hours of lessons per day, or as many as five hours. Check out our guide to semi-intensive driving courses to learn more.

Am I guaranteed to pass?

PassMeFast does not offer ‘guaranteed pass’ courses. This is for one simple reason: it’s impossible to guarantee the result of any test! Instead, we put our efforts into offering excellent tuition and customer service—things that can really make a difference when it comes to your practical. With a pass rate significantly higher than the national average, plus thousands of happy passers, it’s an approach that works!

If your practical test doesn’t go according to plan, you’ll be eligible for a discounted refresher course to ensure you get your licence on the next try. We’ll guarantee that you take your test at the same test centre—and you’ll keep the same instructor, ensuring you’ll be familiar with the car and local test routes. Best of all, we can typically secure you a test date within a month of your original test.

Can I take my course in an automatic car?

Yes! We offer our courses in both manual and automatic cars. Please note, however, that prices may vary by transmission.

Can I have my course on weekends only?

Yes! If you have a tight schedule, it’s possible to arrange your course to take place on weekends only. If you’re interested in this option, please inform your Booking Agent of this when you make your booking, and they’ll be sure to assign you an instructor who can accommodate your request.

Do I need to visit the PassMeFast office to take my course?

No—the course will take place in your local area. Your instructor will typically be able to pick you up and drop you off at home or work.

Do you do home pickups?

Yes! As standard, our instructors will pick you up and drop you off at a location of your choice.

Can I be picked up from my workplace?

Yes! Our instructors are usually able to make pickups and drop-offs at locations to suit you.

About pricing and payments

How much does a PassMeFast course cost?

Our course prices vary by length, transmission, and whether you choose to include a theory and/or practical test as part of your booking. For full details about each of our nine courses, visit our prices page.

How do I pay for my PassMeFast course?

You can pay for your PassMeFast course via:

  • Credit or debit card
  • Bank transfer

PassMeFast does not accept payments in cash. All payments for your course are to be made directly to us; we will never ask you to pay your instructor in cash.

Can I pay in instalments?

If you wish to pay in instalments, you can do so via our finance partner Payl8r, which can help you to spread the cost of your driving course over a period of up to 12 months. Please note that you must undergo a credit check to be approved for finance.

If you wish to discuss alternative payment plans, please call the team on 0333 123 4949, and we’ll be happy to help discuss your options.

Do I need to pay in full straight away?

No! PassMeFast offers a variety of payment options. For peace of mind, you can pay the full balance of your course upfront. However, we only require a £250 deposit to secure a course. You only need to pay the remaining balance in full seven working days before your lessons start.

We’ve also partnered with finance provider Payl8r to help our learners pay for their driving course in instalments. Subject to approval, you’ll be able to spread the cost over a period of up to 12 months. Please note that you will need to undergo a credit check in order to be approved for finance, and that Payl8r’s terms of use apply in addition to those of PassMeFast.

When do I need to have paid in full?

If your course includes a theory test, then your balance will normally be due as soon as you have passed. Otherwise, your course will normally be due once we have booked you a suitable practical test. Paying later than these dates is acceptable, but all courses must be paid in full at least 7 days before the first lesson starts.

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes—the price you see on our website is the price you’ll pay. There are no extra fees added on when you book.

Are your prices all-inclusive?

Our prices include all fees payable for your driving lessons, including VAT and administration fees. If you book a theory or practical test as part of your course, the price shown will include these tests.

Will there be any hidden admin fees to pay during my course?

The prices shown on our website include all costs related to your course—there are no hidden fees!

Please note that mid-course admin fees may apply in certain circumstances, such as a student choosing to cancel or change their practical test at a late stage. Any such fees will, however, be minimal.

Does PassMeFast offer gift certificates?

Yes! If you'd like to purchase any of our courses as a gift for a loved one, simply let us know over the phone. We'll then send you a personalised gift certificate via email.

About theory tests

Can you book my theory test for me?

Yes! For a cost of just £35, PassMeFast can also book your theory test at a time and location to suit you. We can even fast-track your test to take place at an earlier date. This means that you can avoid having to search for or change your theory test, and can simply sit back, relax, and focus on revising for it! Just make sure that you add a theory test onto your course when you book.

Do I already need to have passed my theory test to book a course?

No – you can book a PassMeFast course without having passed your theory. You must, however, have passed your theory test before you can take a practical test. PassMeFast can book your theory for you as part of your course for an additional cost of £35.

Do you offer tuition for theory tests?

At the moment, PassMeFast is unable to offer tuition for theory tests. We have, however, put together some useful theory test tips to help you prepare effectively. We also have app recommendations for Android and iOS smartphones, which we believe are great revision aids. For more advice, visit the theory test section of our blog.

What if I fail my theory test?

If you fail your theory test, we’ll be able to book a new one for you for just £35. We’ll also fast-track your new test, meaning you’ll typically be able to sit it again within 7–10 days.

About practical tests

When will my test take place?

Though we are unable to give exact dates upon booking, PassMeFast guarantee that we’ll beat standard DVSA waiting times for tests. We will always try to find a suitable test for you that takes into account your preferred time, date, and location. Your practical test will, as standard, take place during the last hour of your course.

I already have a test booked — can I still take a PassMeFast course?

Yes. However, we will need to check the availability of instructors in your local area for your current test date. If we are unable to secure an instructor for your current test date, our fast-tracking department will be more than happy to help you to alter the date.

I already have a test booked – can you get me an earlier one?

Yes! PassMeFast specialise in finding fast-track tests, using methods such as finding driving test cancellations. This means that we can help you change your practical test to an earlier date and pass weeks or even months ahead of standard waiting times.

It usually takes months to find a practical test. How does PassMeFast find earlier tests?

At PassMeFast, our fast-track department works tirelessly to secure you the best possible practical test dates. They do so via various methods, including via driving test cancellations.

Could I take my test in the next 2-3 weeks?

Availability for tests depends on where you’d like to take your test, the times and dates when you’re free to take it, and the length of your driving course. If you’re flexible with when and where you’re able to take your course, it’s usually possible to get you a test within just a few weeks. If you’re only free at very specific times, or you’re taking a very long course, then you may have to wait a little bit longer. Call us on 0333 123 4949 for a more exact estimate of your test dates.

Will I be taking my practical test in the same car as my lessons?

Yes! As standard, you’ll be taking your practical test in the same car you’ll take lessons in throughout your course. Exceptions to this are very rare—for example, in the instance of a breakdown or emergency.

Can I take my test on a weekend?

Driving test centres rarely offer weekend tests. As a result, it may not always be possible for us to book your test on a weekend—though we will always endeavour to do so if this is your preference. Please note that weekend tests cost £13 more than weekday tests.

I have special requirements for my test. Can I book a course with PassMeFast?

If you have any special requirements, give us a call on 0333 123 4949. Our friendly sales team will look into the possibility of making arrangements for your course, and will let you know whether we’re able to help you get your licence.

I've been banned from driving before and need an extended practical test. Can I book a course with PassMeFast?

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer extended tests. If you require an extended test, you won’t be able to book a course with us.

Where can I find additional information about theory and practical tests?

Check out our resources page to find helpful hints and tips to give you that extra confidence boost you need to be completely test-ready. We've also compiled some great sources of information from the DVSA themselves, in addition to some handy apps, so you can brush up on your driving knowledge on-the-go.
