Here at PassMeFast, we're always looking for more ways to let our current—and prospective—learners and instructors get to know us a bit better. It's one of the reasons why we set up our instructors page, so that learners and potential instructors would be able to put a face to our ADIs. With that in mind, we decided to give you another sneak peek under the hood with an exclusive look a PassMeFast's journey towards building up the best fleet of instructors in the UK.
PassMeFast's humble beginning started in Salford as a very simple idea: looking beyond traditional, single lessons and instead toward intensive courses that get learner drivers passed fast. Forget one size fits all! Once we created our tailored course packages, we started out small—offering courses and fast-track practical tests to learners in Greater Manchester. With only a handful of local, experienced instructors to rely on, PassMeFast began its exciting journey.
Clearly we were on to something good—soon enough, we'd passed countless learners in the Greater Manchester area. Plus, we had swarms of driving instructors queuing outside our office to join our books (okay, maybe we're exaggerating just a little!).
Whilst Greater Manchester will always hold a special place in our heart—and continues to be our base of operation—we soon realised that it would be cruel to only offer our services to one county alone. With that in mind, we began our slow—but steady—expansion across the UK. We've come a long way since our beginning in Greater Manchester. In fact, you might not be aware that we have since branched out into:
And we're certainly not looking to stop anytime soon—so keep a close eye on our areas page. Of course, our steady conquest of the UK would never have happened if not for our trusty fleet of driving instructors. Word of mouth spreads fast amongst ADIs, which is why we've been able to expand across counties. So what exactly caused driving instructors to gravitate towards us?
There are hundreds of driving schools across the UK, all offering driving instructors frequent work and a variety of intriguing benefits. In short, it's a pretty competitive industry. So how on earth did we manage to nab some of the best instructors across the UK? It's simple really—we reached out to instructors and listened to their experiences with driving schools. We looked at aspects they liked and disliked, using it to perfect our pitch and, eventually, reel in our ADIs.
One of the main factors that pushes driving instructors away from joining a driving school is franchise fees. At some driving schools, they can be incredibly costly—especially if you're not taking on enough students to not only pay the fees, but also come away with a tidy enough profit for yourself. The key to any business is keeping your employees happy—and that was what we kept in mind. PassMeFast wants its instructors to enjoy their job, which is why we made a decision when creating our business: no franchise fees!
Countless numbers of people across the UK are always looking into learning to drive, which means there's always business coming in. We get students calling in from all over the UK looking to get passed as soon as possible—ranging from simple 5 hour refresher courses, all the way up to beginner 48 hour courses. And what's more, we have very low cancellation rates with these students—so our instructors don't have to worry about courses being cancelled last minute. Of course, that's not taking into account our competitive rates and upfront payment.
And that's not all. The entire basis of our driving courses is flexibility—and we don't just mean for our students. Learners are, of course, drawn to our courses because they can be completed intensively or semi-intensively—moulded around a busy schedule. Instructors are drawn to our courses because they can take as many or as few as they'd like. They're under absolutely no obligation to take a minimum number of courses. This means our instructors can work full-time, part-time or just one-off courses every now and again.

Another issue we hear a lot about from our driving instructors, is the lack of personality and friendliness they get from other driving schools—they all seem like faceless, impersonal corporations. PassMeFast, by comparison, treats its instructors like family—taking the time to sit down and get to know them. After a few weeks with us, new instructors are on a first-name basis with most of our staff!
And that's not all. When an instructor decides to teach a PassMeFast course, they're assured of a full support system. If there are ever any problems in a lesson or with a specific student, all it takes is a direct call to our bookings team and our instructors can relay everything. There's no delay—waiting around for someone to finally call you back and tell you the best course of action. We're in touch with our instructors every step of the way, making for a more streamlined communication process.
Plus, we're always keen to get to know more about them—it's why we launched our “Get to Know Our ADIs” series on the PassMeFast blog. We've previously written about these top ADIs:
We know what you're thinking, it's all well and good boasting about having a fleet of driving instructors across the UK, but what exactly makes them the best there is to offer?
To start, all of our grade A and B driving instructors have gone through the long and grueling process of tests and applications to become an ADI. Not familiar with the process? Take a look behind the scenes at how to become a driving instructor. With their qualifications and wide experience, our ADIs are equipped to help any learner get to grips with the intricacies of the road and become a safe and confident driver.
Our instructors are the best not only because they know what they're doing—they've got the certification to prove it—but also because they've got handy local knowledge tucked up their sleeve. Learners might be more interested in looking at driving test pass rates, but it's the local knowledge of our ADIs that gets them passed and on the road. As we tell all of our students, the more familiar you are with the area around your chosen test centre, the better your chances are of passing your test first time.
Clearly, PassMeFast works well with its instructors—and only reaches out to the best to join its ranks. However, it's not all about how well things work internally—it's also about how well our students get on with their instructors. After all, we wouldn't be where we are today if our instructors didn't gel well with our learners.
Depending on a learner's chosen course, they could be spending up to 48 hours in a car with their allocated instructor—so it's pretty important that they get along. Fortunately, our instructors are more than equipped for whatever comes their way. Each learner is different—with varying levels of confidence and driving skill—which is why our instructors take the time to get to know them properly. In fact, by the end of their course, most learners consider their instructor to be their closest confidante—and friend. Don't believe us? Here are a few quotes from past reviews:
Our instructors tailor their teaching style to suit each learner. Plus, they practically bend over backwards to help students—from offering both workplace and home pick-ups to arranging lessons to fit around hectic schedules.
If you're looking to learn the skills you need to become a safe and confident driver, you really can't go wrong by learning with one of PassMeFast's top driving instructors.
