How To Get There

Don’t worry too much if you’re not entirely sure where Forfar test centre is. If you’re learning with a local ADI, they’ll take you around the area during your driving lessons. If you’re eager to snoop around before this happens (we love your enthusiasm!), just use these directions.

A Bit More About Forfar

If you’re taking your practical at Forfar test centre, you can expect heavy traffic, due to its proximity to Asda, regardless of what time your test is at. As such, you’ll need to be prepared to carefully navigate around oncoming traffic, parked vehicles and pedestrians—this is where your hazard perception and clutch control skills will come into play.

Given how crowded the area can get around the Asda car park, it’s unlikely that you’ll demonstrate your manoeuvre here. Instead, the examiner will probably pick out another local car park, or take you to a quieter area like Letham. Eventually, you’ll be guided away from the town centre and pitted against rural roads after taking an exit off the bustling A90.

  • Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
