Shrewsbury Test Pass Rates

Though we’d love to be able to tell learners whether they’ll pass or fail their practical, we simply don’t have the ability to look into the future. What To Expect On The Day

Haven’t had the time to ask your instructor what happens on your driving test? Not to worry—we’re more than happy to fill you in!

You’re required to get to Shrewsbury test centre ten minutes before your test is due to start. This is designed to give you enough time to park up and meet your examiner. Your examiner will then ask to see your provisional and get you to sign a form.

Once that’s out of the way, your driving test will follow this structure:

  • An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
  • Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
  • Twenty minutes of independent driving, during which you’ll either follow sat nav directions or sign posts to reach a set destination
