What To Expect On The Day

So your big day has finally arrived. Go you! You’ve only got one final hurdle to overcome before you can become a fully qualified driver: the practical test. Before you take a step out of your front door, make sure that you have your provisional. You will not be allowed to take your practical without it. To give yourself plenty of time to park your car and meet the examiner, you’ll also need to get to Oswestry 10 minutes before your test is due to start.

Your driving test will then follow this standard format:

• An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
• Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
• Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
