Practical Driving Test Centres in Canterbury

Of all the ways to avoid test day nerves, one of the best is to feel prepared and comfortable. It’s sad to hear, then, that many driving schools offer 5 day courses which force hopeful drivers to learn to drive in unfamiliar areas. With PassMeFast, though, this isn’t a concern. Our courses will see you taking your test at a test centre close to you—and, in this area, the Canterbury driving test centre is the obvious choice. If you live closer to the coast, then Herne Bay is definitely worth considering too.

Theory Test Centres in Canterbury

There are precious few places in the country that can boast both a theory and practical test centre to their name. Thankfully, Canterbury is one of them; Canterbury theory test centre is a hop, skip and jump from the city centre, making this a convenient location to reach for learners from across the local area. There shouldn’t be much need, then, to look elsewhere—but if, for some reason, you need to go further afield, you could consider travelling along the north Kent coast to Chatham.

Haven't taken your theory test yet?

Don’t be fooled into thinking the theory test is easy—there’s no guaranteed pass to be had here! Prepare properly: follow our guide to passing your theory test, and make sure you add a theory test to your PassMeFast course when booking. We’ll arrange it to take place at a time, date and test centre to suit you—a load off your mind!

Driving Around Canterbury

With two test centres in the Canterbury area, your driving lessons will focus on the area where your practical test is due to take place. If you’re in the city of Canterbury itself, you’ll soon get used to roads such as the A2, which links the area with both London and the port of Dover, as well as some of the road features present in the city centre, such as St George’s Roundabout, which lies close to the test centre.

Those living in the areas to the north of the city may be better served by heading instead to the Herne Bay test centre. This may be a smaller town, but this doesn’t mean you’ll spend all of your time on quiet roads—the A229 dual carriageway, which winds its way along the coastal areas of north-east Kent, is likely to feature on your lessons, which carries the national speed limit among much of its length.
