By public transport
Good news for anyone getting to their theory test by public transport! It couldn’t be easier in Lowestoft. That’s because the test centre sits right around the corner from Lowestoft train station. Seriously, one you get off the train it should only take you about 5 minutes to walk to your test appointment. Easy-peasy!
If you can believe it, bus devotees will have an even easier time travelling to the test centre. There’s only a bus station right outside! Make your way to Lowestoft bus station and you’ll be laughing.

By car
Then again, maybe you don’t have to contemplate public transport options because someone is nice enough to drive you to your test. Make life easier for everyone by noting down that the postcode of your destination is NR32 1LR. This way you can always turn to a sat nav to help you out!
Parking
The test centre might not provide any parking, but you do have a great option nearby. Make your way to the Britten Centre car park (NR32 1LJ) and you can get 2 hours of parking for £1.50. Another upside is that it’s only a 2-minute walk from the theory test centre!
These pass rates may not fill you with confidence, but we’d urge learners not to use this against the test centre. Pass rates are simply a reflection of how previous learners fared here—they have nothing to do with how easy or hard the test is at Lowestoft. If you’re really short for time and are catching the train home, this branch of Wetherspoons is perfectly located for you to grab a quick drink or bite to eat. It’s a 3-minute walk from the test centre, which means it’s also a 1-minute walk to the station! Inside is everything you’d expect from this chain: great drinks deals, decent pub grub and a lively atmosphere.
Head 8 minutes across the river and you’ll find this very quirky establishment that goes by the name of Iconic Style Bar. The decor is super modern, with white surfaces and mood lights that change colour as you take in the surroundings. They have an extensive range of drinks and some really delicious food plates on offer, so we doubt you’ll leave feeling hungry or thirsty. Pay it a visit if you fancy something a little different!
Just 10 minutes over the river you’ll also stumble upon this excellent pub and restaurant that sits right on the waterfront. Along with great views you can expect welcoming and friendly staff, plenty of great tipples and some high quality food. The perfect place to round off a trip to the seaside!
