How To Get There

A Bit More About Duns

So, what can you expect from your driving test at Duns test centre? Well, the driving examiner will start things off by guiding you around the town. They might take you down Station Road, for example, which would take you past the busy Knoll Community Hospital Duns—so keep making observations and checking your blindspots for any unexpected vehicles or pedestrians.

There are quite a few compact residential roads scattered throughout the town centre, so you might end up completing one of the driving test manoeuvres in areas such as Glebe Park or Winterfield Gardens. Alternatively, they might pick a local car park, or get you to do it when you’re further afield.

Eventually, the speed will start to pick up as the examiner guides you onto one of the nearby A roads. Where you end up will depend entirely on the test route (which is chosen at random). You could be nudged onto the A6105 towards Chirnsidebridge or Greenlaw, or the A6112 towards Swinton or Coldstream.
