How To Get There

No idea where Cardigan test centre is? Relax! Your driving instructor will take you around the area during your lessons, which means that soon enough, you’ll be able to head there without any assistance. If you’re looking to catch a glimpse before your lessons start, however, you’ll need to use these directions to avoid taking a wrong turn.

A Bit More About Cardigan

During your driving test, your examiner will pit you against a range of tricky road types, traffic conditions and speed systems, in order to test whether or not you’re truly ready to become a fully qualified driver.

Cardigan test centre is surrounded by a lot of local businesses, which means that right off the bat, you’re probably going to end up facing heavy foot and road traffic, especially during rush hour. The examiner will be paying close attention to your observations and speed on these roads, to try to be mindful of both as you drive. The area is also home to various local car parks which, depending on the time of day, might be ideal for the driving test manoeuvre.

You won’t just stay close to Cardigan test centre, however. At some point, the examiner will lead you further afield by making use of the nearby A487. As you follow this A road, you might be taken towards areas like Llechryd or Cilgerran, before looping back around to Cardigan.

  • An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
  • Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
