Intensive driving courses are the faster, more efficient way to learn the skills you need to be a safe, confident, and fully qualified driver. Goal-focused intensive driving courses give you the skills you need for your practical test. PassMeFast’s prices cover everything from fast-tracking your theory test to your lessons with an expert instructor. We’ve already helped 80,000 people get on the road fast — see what they had to say!
Intensive driving courses work by booking a block of lessons bundled with your theory test. We’ll take care of all the admin, arrange your theory test, and assign an expert instructor to guide you through your lessons. Unlike other intensive driving courses, PassMeFast lets you choose how many hours you drive per day. From fully intensive (4–5 hours) to semi-intensive lessons (2 hours), we fit your course around your schedule.
Intensive driving courses give you the opportunity to get your licence faster than if you were to take traditional hourly lessons — which can drag on (seemingly) forever.
There are a few different types of intensive course:
For all intensive courses you’ll need:
It totally depends on how you learn best. Some people struggle to take everything in in such a short space of time. Other people thrive from the pressure and forget a lot when they're doing slower-paced lessons. It's important to find the right balance and choose a course that works best for you.
Intensive courses are a quick and efficient way to learn the skills you need to be a safe, confident driver. Don’t waste time on single lessons—our prices cover all lessons and the services of your own booking agent. We’ve helped thousands of people get on the road fast—check out our reviews page!
Intensive driving course costs vary depending on how many hours of lessons you need, and PassMeFast offer everything from 10 to 48-hour courses. The best thing about PassMeFast’s intensive driving course prices is that you’ll pay one price for everything from your theory to your lessons. Book a PassMeFast course and you won’t need to worry about paying for each lesson with cash. You can even pay in monthly instalments with PassFast PaySlow!
Intensive driving courses can help you progress through your lessons quickly and efficiently. PassMeFast courses are goal-focused, with your theory test built in, so you and your instructor both have a clear milestone to work towards. This means you won’t have big gaps between your lessons and your theory preparation, keeping everything fresh in your mind as you build your knowledge and confidence.
Weighing up whether something is worth the money can be tricky. Worth is subjective and depends on your individual circumstances — so what’s “worth it” for one person won’t be for another.
But while we can’t offer a definitive answer, we can run through three main considerations to help you decide: is an intensive driving course worth it… for you?
Time — how quickly can you progress through your lessons?
Money — is it cost effective?
Quality — will it deliver results?
It’s also worth checking whether your course includes a theory test option.
Some intensive driving courses don’t include support with booking or preparing for your theory test — meaning you may need to organise it yourself and potentially delay your progress. While your lessons can move quickly, your overall journey isn’t complete until you’ve passed your theory and built a strong foundation for driving.
If there are long gaps between your lessons and your theory preparation, you may find yourself needing extra time or support to stay on track. Otherwise, you risk losing momentum and forgetting key knowledge you’ve already learned.
We recommend choosing a course that includes a theory test and structured support, so your learning stays aligned. You may have to wait slightly longer to get started, but it can save you time, money, and effort in the long run.
Intensive driving courses can cost in the region of £2,000 to £3,000 for a beginner driver. They're generally a little more expensive than hourly lessons because:
However, a course of lessons may actually save you money in the long run, since:
Something else to consider is that you can usually access flexible payment options with a block-booked course. Taking hourly lessons with a driving instructor may mean paying at the start of every session.
Check when your driving school requires payment, as some will accept a small deposit to get things started — and it’s always worth asking whether you can split the total cost into more manageable instalments. Bear in mind that payment plans may not be interest-free, so if you can afford to pay upfront, that’s usually the most cost-effective option.
It really depends on what works best for you, as well as how many hours of lessons you need. You could finish an intensive driving course in a few days or a week, or you could space out your lessons a little over a few weeks.
We operate across the UK, with a network of high quality tutors in places like Manchester, London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Nottingham. Wherever you live, it’s highly likely we’ll have an instructor nearby who can meet you at your home to begin your lessons.
Nobody can guarantee that you pass a driving test. The DVSA runs driving tests in the UK, and they hire examiners who decide whether you've passed or failed. Examiners can't be influenced, so it all depends on how you perform on the day. A company offering a guaranteed pass is usually being deceptive and there will be various clauses hidden in the terms and conditions.
Some intensive driving schools offer ‘guaranteed’ passes. Let’s be clear: nobody can guarantee you’ll pass. Whatever they’re offering comes at a steep price, and is not usually worth the extra cash.
Compare your need for speed, budget and expectations with the pros and cons
we’ve highlighted to see whether you’d thrive in an intensive course
setting, or be better suited to learning at a slower pace.
Remember that for many people, the best fit is somewhere in the middle: a
flexible, semi-intensive course that builds your confidence and experience
over a couple of months.
Whatever you decide, look for trusted driving course specialists or a
high-quality instructor, who will personally tailor your provisional-to-pass
journey. They should provide you with the skills to stay safe on the roads,
no matter the conditions.
Possemato's intensive driving courses are perfect for anybody, whether
you’re a beginner or pro. If you don’t have much driving experience, don’t
worry. You’ll be up to speed quickly and an intensive driving course means
you’ll avoid unnecessary lessons and learn to drive at lightning speed.
Why choose an intensive driving course?
Things to consider
Wondering what residential courses are all about? They’re immersive driving courses where you travel to the driving school (and usually stay overnight), rather than having an instructor come to you — ideal if you want to fully focus and make rapid progress.
It happens to the best of us, but we can help you get back on the road. If you’ve recently failed a test, it’s best to book a quick refresher course to go over those weak spots.
If you do opt for an intensive or semi-intensive course, you can help to ensure your time and money is well spent by:
1. Prepare for your theory
It’s difficult to overemphasise the importance of really getting to grips
with your theory — not just so you can sail through the test, but also so
you know exactly what you’re meant to be doing on the roads when you finally
get there. That way, your lesson time will be spent efficiently, practicing
practical skills, rather than going over the rules of the road.
2. Book fast to pass fast
Many people miss this memo, but you have to be realistic about matching your
free time with that of a driving instructor. Their schedules get booked up
very quickly, especially in peak times like the summer (and at the moment,
of course, they are still battling pandemic backlogs).
While your lessons themselves aren’t going to take long with an intensive
course, you need to get booked in nice and early so that you can learn when
you want.
PassMeFast’s specialty is building a driving course that suits you — so you don’t have to compromise on flexibility or time constraints. Once you’re booked in (and have completed your theory) we’ll match you with a fantastic instructor in your local area, so you can arrange your lessons directly. We’ll keep checking in to see how things are progressing — and await with anticipation that ultimate end goal: the pink licence of dreams.
The first step towards getting your licence is booking a course with PassMeFast. Luckily, it couldn’t be simpler. You can book online in just a few minutes. Not sure which course is right for you? After you’ve booked, it’s time for us to work our fast magic. We’ll start by sending you a quick form to complete. This lets you choose where and when you’d like to begin, and how you want your course structured. You’ll also provide a few key details, such as your provisional licence number and full name, so we can get everything set up smoothly.

Show and Tell: Before you get behind the wheel, you’ll be asked a couple of questions about car maintenance and safety. It’s often referred to as “show me, tell me”, because the examiner will ask you to show them where a certain feature is located, or tell them how you’d perform a particular check. Make sure you brush up on what’s under your car’s bonnet, so you’re prepared for whatever questions get thrown at you. Don’t worry, it’s all fairly basic and your instructor will help you.
Take the Wheel: The next section of your practical will be the general driving section. This tests your ability to deal with different types of road conditions and should last around 20 minutes. If possible, the examiner will try to mix up the types of roads you take to include urban roads and higher-speed-limit roads such as dual carriageways. This section of the test is intended to show the examiner that you're a considerate driver who's conscious of real risks on the road. It's super important to be aware of your surroundings and show consideration for other road users and pedestrians.
Going it Alone: The independent driving section of the driving test was introduced in 2010, making it one of the newer parts of the driving test. Further changes came in December 2017, when sat navs were introduced. Now, 80% of learners will take their driving test with a sat nav and the remaining fifth will follow traffic signs to get to a specific destination. Don't worry if you miss a certain sign or instruction —you won't be penalised for taking a wrong turn. It's also perfectly acceptable to ask the examiner for clarification if you're unsure of what to do.
Most importantly — don’t stress! The practical test is your chance to shine and show off everything you’ve learned during your PassMeFast course. Follow your instructor’s guidance and you’ll be getting rid of your L-plates for good!
