By public transport
If you’re arriving by train it couldn’t be easier to get to the test centre—it’s just a 9-minute walk from Skipton station! Get yourself onto Broughton Road, turn left at the high street and the centre should be right there.
Those coming by bus are also in for a straightforward journey. Depending on the direction you’re coming from, get off at either the Caroline Square or Doctor’s Surgery bus stop. The test centre is only a few minutes’ walk from both.
For more information on transport in Skipton, head to the North Yorkshire County Council website.
By car
Lucky enough to nab a lift to your test? Simply enter BD23 2HU into the sat nav and hit the road! The most common routes tend to include the A59 and/or the A629.
Parking
The theory test centre itself doesn’t provide parking spaces, but there are plenty of affordable options nearby. Waller Hill car park is a 4-minute walk from the centre and charges just £2.30 for 2 hours of parking. If that’s already full when you arrive, head to the High Street car park. You’ll be charged exactly the same price and it’s still only a 6-minute walk to your test.
Skipton is a fairly new theory test centre, so there aren’t a lot of stats available to compare them to other centres close by. Nevertheless, from what’s been recorded so far, it seems to be doing very well! Skipton’s pass rates sit higher than the national average.
Pass rates shouldn’t be taken too seriously by learners, though—how you do on the test really is up to you. The test is going to be the same no matter where you take it.
