Hornchurch Test Route

The DVSA no longer publishes test routes, so there's no real way of knowing the exact test route you'll be taken on during your test. That being said, you can get a rough idea by looking at videos of Hornchurch test routes on YouTube or by downloading our sample Hornchurch driving test routes. You won't have to worry too much if you're learning with a local ADI. You wouldn’t be the first—or the last—learner driver to wonder what the stats are regarding driving test pass rates. With that in mind, we took to the official DVSA stats to find out all the interesting details! For starters, the UK’s national average pass rate is 45.9%. What To Expect On The Day

So, you’ve practiced on the local roads and you know the ins and outs of Hornchurch. What’s next? Your driving test, of course. On the day itself, you need to get there 10 minutes early and bring your provisional licence. The test will then proceed with:

  • An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
  • Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
  • Twenty minutes of independent driving, during which you’ll either follow sat nav directions or sign posts to reach a set destination

The examiner will tell you their verdict once you arrive back at Hornchurch test centre. They will give you both written and verbal feedback, so keep this in mind if you end up failing. If you’re successful, they will also give you a test pass certificate and the opportunity to hand in your provisional so you can get your new one.

But What If I Fail?

If the driving test pass rates didn’t clue you in, plenty of learner drivers don’t get it right the first time around. Some need a couple of attempts to get it just right—others need several tries. Think of it as a learning experience—each time you’re able to improve your weaker areas until you’re just right. Ready to get back on the road?
