What To Expect On The Day

So you made it to the end of your driving course in one piece. Congratulations! There’s only one thing stopping you from becoming a fully qualified driver: the driving test. Contrary to popular driving test myths, the test isn’t impossible. As long as you keep a cool head and remember what you’ve covered in your lessons, you should be able to impress the examiner and pass with flying colours!

There’s not much to do in terms of preparation for your big day. All you need to do really is get to Peterhead ten minutes early with your provisional. After exchanging quick pleasantries with the examiner, your test will proceed with:

• An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
• Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
• Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
