What If I Can't Go To Heaton?

Learners in West Yorkshire can head to a range of practical test centres. If you can’t go to Heaton, you can always head on over to Thornbury or Horsforth.

What To Expect On The Day

Once you’ve completed your course, you’ll be set to take your practical test. The only thing left for you to do is get to Heaton 10 minutes early with your provisional. Your practical will then proceed with:

  • An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
  • Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
  • Twenty minutes of independent driving, during which you’ll either follow sat nav directions or sign posts to reach a set destination

Once you’ve completed your test, the examiner will let you know if you’ve passed or failed. No matter what the outcome is, you'll be given a feedback sheet that will detail any faults you made during the test. If you do pass, you'll receive a test pass certificate. If you want them to send off for your new licence, you’ll have to give them your provisional.

But What If I Fail?

It’s quite common for people to fail their driving tests, so you really don’t have to worry about it. All you have to do is use the feedback given to you by your examiner so that you can learn from your mistakes and pass with flying colours next time! If you're looking to get booked back in, PassMeFast can fast-track your test. To get started, call us on 0333 123 4949 or contact us via our website.
