Learning to drive can be complicated at the best times, but the pandemic threw a big ol' spanner into the engine. Over a million tests were cancelled and the industry is still recovering from the backlog. No need to panic though — PassMeFast are still your faster route to driving and we can still fast-track a driving test for you.

Our intensive courses involve longer driving lessons, with each session lasting a minimum of two hours and a maximum of five hours. You’ll usually have lessons on several days a week, with our most intensive course structure involving lessons every day.
Want to take things slower? We can arrange a semi-intensive course for you, which is easier to fit around a busy schedule — an example of this would be taking two-hour sessions on a couple of evenings a week.
Don’t be put off if you don’t want to learn intensively — we’re fast but also flexible. We’ll help to arrange your course however you want it.
We have 8 different courses to choose from. When choosing your course, be mindful of your current driving ability and the experience you’ll need to pass your test.
According to the DVSA, it takes an average of 45 hours of driving tuition to get up to passing standard. If you’re a complete beginner, we’d recommend taking one of our longest courses to ensure you’re prepared for the test. If you have more driving experience, a shorter course is likely to be more suitable.
And, to give yourself the best odds of passing, you can add PassProtect to any course and get 2 extra practical test attempts for the price of 1.
Still not sure? Use our smart course recommender and we’ll help you find the perfect course.
It’s usually possible to add more hours to your course. However, to fit the additional hours in, your instructor might ask to reschedule your practical test date. Because of this, it’s best to book the right amount of hours rather than trying your luck with fewer lessons.
To add extra hours to your course, please call us on 0333 123 4949.
If you end up passing with fewer lessons than you booked, you can use these for further tuition (motorway tuition, for example). Unfortunately, due to the all-inclusive nature of our courses, any unused hours are non-refundable.
We give you everything you need to help you pass, including:
We have a range of courses to suit all learners — from short refreshers for those with plenty of experience to comprehensive packages for beginners. Check out our courses for full details on each, or visit our course recommender to find your perfect fit.
Between 1–3 hours of your course will be reserved for your test. For example, our 48 hour course would usually include 45 hours of lessons, plus the time used for the practical test.
The amount of time needed depends on your location, course structure, and instructor. Your instructor will discuss this with you ahead of your test date.
Our experienced, DVSA-approved instructors’ friendly and patient approach to driving tuition will help you feel at ease behind the wheel.
Our courses are faster than the old way of learning to drive, but never rushed. Everybody learns differently, so you can take your course at a pace that works for you.
Your instructor will pay careful attention to your progress, providing the guidance you need to help you become a safe and confident driver. Don’t worry — you’re in good hands.
Our courses are flexible. Together with your instructor, you’re free to decide on a lesson plan that works for you, helping you to pass fast even on a busy schedule.
No! Our courses are flexible and can be structured to suit your needs. Depending on your schedule and instructor’s availability, it’s possible to take as little as two hours of lessons per day, or as many as five hours.
Check out our guide to semi-intensive driving courses to learn more.
We don’t offer ‘guaranteed pass’ courses. Instead, we put our efforts into offering excellent tuition, focused lesson plans, and exceptional customer service.
And if you do want to give yourself an extra safety net, get PassProtect — the fairer alternative to ‘guaranteed pass’ courses without all the complicated terms.
If your practical test doesn’t go to plan, we’ll sort you out with a discounted refresher course to hopefully get your licence on the next try. You can usually take the next test at the same place and with the same instructor, so you’ll be familiar with the car and local test routes.
With a pass rate significantly higher than the national average, plus thousands of happy passers, PassMeFast works!
Yes! You can do your course in either a manual or automatic car. Completion times will vary between transmission and your location.
Yes! But please bear in mind that weekend lesson slots are always in high demand and get booked up much faster. If you need weekend lessons only, you should expect to wait longer to start your lessons. Usually, the more available you can be, the faster you can get your licence.
Unfortunately, the DVSA don’t carry out many weekend tests (with most test centres closed completely over weekends), so your test will need to be on a weekday.
Nope! The course will take place in your local area, and your instructor will usually pick you up and drop you off at home or work.
Yes! In most cases, our instructors will pick you up and drop you off at a location of your choice. There are a very small number of areas (like some London postcodes) where home pick ups aren’t practical. In these cases, your instructor will usually pick you up from a train/tube station to:
If your instructor isn’t able to start lessons from your chosen address, they’ll let you know. Give us a call if you have any questions regarding your pick-up address.
Usually, yes — you can do your entire course from your work. This may not be possible if your home and work are far apart because all instructors have specific areas that they cover.
To give you the best chance of passing, we design our courses around the practical test date. Once a suitable date has been agreed, we’ll assign an instructor who is able to match your availability.
Building your course this way helps to keep your lessons as close to the test date as possible, so everything you learned is fresh in your mind for the big day.
Learners who are taking a beginner course may be offered the option to start their driving lessons early. If we can start your driving lessons before we've secured a test for you, you'll be given the option to go ahead in your Student Portal. Just let us know if you'd like to get started there, or by calling us on 0333 123 4949.
Our course prices vary by location, course length, vehicle transmission, and whether you choose to include a theory and/or practical test as part of your booking.
For full details about each of our nine courses, visit our prices page.
When you buy anything online, you have 14 days to cancel and refund your order, no questions asked. This would mean we're unable to start work on booking your tests and arranging your course until this 14-day period has passed. To get you on the road ASAP, we ask you to waive this cancellation period so we can start work on your booking straight away. This doesn't affect the Money-Back Guarantee -- if we weren't able to arrange your course in line with our timescales, you'd still be able to get a full refund.
You can read more about the Money-Back Guarantee here.
We always aim for the stars and want you to be perfectly happy with your course. If things don't go to plan and you want to cancel your course, we offer a full money-back guarantee. You'd be eligible for a refund in the rare case that:
Any lesson hours or test fees already used are not eligible for refund in any of these cases.

We only require a £250 deposit to book a course, but you’ll need to pay the full remaining balance of your course within 7 days of an instructor being allocated. If your course is due to start sooner than that, your balance is due before those lessons begin.
Once your instructor is allocated, we’ll send you a link to make payment. If payment isn’t made within 7 days of being connected to an instructor, the course will be placed on hold and any tests booked will be postponed.
Yes — the price you see on our website is the price you’ll pay. There are no extra fees added on when you book.
Our prices include everything you need to go from provisional to pass, including VAT and admin fees. We can add additional items to your course if needed.

Yes! You can add a theory test to any course. We’ll use our fast-track system to secure a test at a time and location to suit you.
No — you can book a PassMeFast course without having passed your theory. PassMeFast can book your theory for you as part of your course for an additional cost of £40.
One thing to remember is that you must pass your theory test before the DVSA allows us to book your practical test. Due to this, our course completion estimate starts from when you tell us you've passed the theory test.
We do! You can add PassMeTheory to your course, which is a one-hour online session with a theory expert. The session covers the most difficult areas of the theory test, where you'll be able to ask any questions and have access to some great resources after your session.
As well as that, our blog is full of useful tips to help you pass.
Yeah — we can change your theory or practical test after we’ve booked it. There is an admin fee of £48 for us to fast-track your test again.
We also advise against changing your test where possible, because it will usually delay your course by a few weeks. But, if you’re happy to push things back a little, we’re more than happy to find you a new test.
Don't panic if you fail your first theory, we’ll be able to book a new one for you for just £40. We’ll also fast-track it, meaning you’ll typically be able to sit it again within 4–6 weeks.
Though we’re unable to give exact dates, PassMeFast usually beats standard DVSA waiting times for tests by several weeks. We’ll always try to find your ideal test based on your preferred time, date, and location.
Your practical will, as standard, take place during the last session of your course.
If you want an estimate of when your test will be, please call our team on 0333 123 4949 and select option 1.
Yes, but we’ll need to check the availability of instructors in your local area for your current test date. If we’re unable to secure an instructor for your test, our fast-tracking department will be more than happy to help you alter the date to the next possible slot.
Yes! PassMeFast specialises in fast-tracking tests, so we can usually help change your practical test to an earlier date, as long as we have an instructor available for it.
Our fast-track department works around the clock to secure the best possible test dates. They use various methods, including swapping tests between our pool of students and being on standby to snap up cancellations.
Yes! You’ll be taking your practical test in the same car you’ll learn in. Exceptions to this are very rare — for example, in the instance of a breakdown or emergency
Driving test centres rarely offer weekend tests. With this in mind, it probably won’t be possible for us to book your test on a weekend.
Lessons can usually take place outside of typical working hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm) but the DVSA only tends to carry out practical tests between 8am–3pm on weekdays.
If you have any special requirements, give us a call on 0333 123 4949 and we’ll let you know whether we’re able to help.

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer extended tests. If you require an extended test, you won’t be able to book a course with us.
You’ll be connected to one of our ~5,000 DVSA-approved instructors, and all of them:
So you always have the instructor’s full attention for the entirety of your course, you’ll always be taught on a one-on-one basis.
Our instructors have a wide range of cars — diesel, petrol, Fords, Peugeots, green, red, you name it!
While we can’t guarantee a specific car for your course, all of our instructor’s vehicles have dual-controls and pass regular safety checks. The only big decision you need to make is whether you want a manual or auto course, we’ll do the rest and find a great match for you.
To give you the best chance of passing, we design our courses around the practical test date. Once a suitable date has been agreed, we’ll assign an instructor who is able to match your availability.

In a small minority of cases, a learner may be assigned an instructor that isn't a good fit.
It doesn’t happen often, but we’ll work closely with the learner to find a suitable resolution, including the possibility of changing to a different instructor. If we do need to assign a different instructor, then it might also be necessary to change the test date, depending on the new instructor’s availability.
Definitely! You can arrange breaks by speaking to your instructor, and if a lesson is 3+ hours they’ll probably schedule a comfort break.
It’s also a good idea to take a bottle of water and a snack to longer lessons — driving can be thirsty work!
This can usually be sorted by having a chat with your instructor. If you need to take things slower, then it’s likely that your test will need to be rescheduled to fit your lessons in beforehand.
Our team can help you with this, so just give us a call on 0333 123 4949 if you have any questions about your course schedule.
It's usually possible to upgrade your course with more hours. Please let us know about this as soon as you can by calling 0333 123 4949.
Downgrading of courses is not possible.
If you end up passing with fewer lessons than you booked, you can use any leftover time for further tuition (motorway tuition, for example).
Unfortunately, due to the all-inclusive nature of our courses, any unused hours are non-refundable.
It’s generally not possible to change transmission, especially if your practical test is booked or your course has begun.
If you do need to change transmission, your course will be delayed because we’ll need to postpone your test and find a new instructor.
When arranging your lessons, please ask your instructor about their cancellation policy.
You’ll be required to follow their policy. Typically, you'll need to give a minimum of 24–48 hours’ notice.
If you find that you're too ill for your driving lesson, please let your instructor know as soon as possible. Be aware that our instructors have their own cancellation policies, with most requiring 24–48 hours' notice.
Your instructor will be able to resolve most issues during lessons, so it’s always best to start by having a quick chat with them.
If you need our help, you can speak to our team by calling 0333 123 4949 and selecting option 2.
Yes — we can put your course on hold for up to 3 months. If we don’t hear from you for over 3 months, you risk your booking expiring. If this happens then a fee would be payable to reopen your booking.
To have a chat about your options, please call the office on 0333 123 4949 and select option 2.
It’s normal to have some last-minute nerves, but if your instructor advises you that you’re not test ready, then we can move your test back, giving you more time.
It costs £48 for us to rebook and fast-track you another test. However, we will change your test date free of charge if you purchase extra hours directly through PassMeFast. If you’re unable to take the test and don’t inform us before the cancellation deadline (4 clear working days before the test date), you’ll need to pay for a new test.
Your instructor will have the final say on whether you’re ready for your test. They also reserve the right to withdraw use of their car for the test if they don’t think you’re ready.
If you don’t pass, don’t worry! We have a number of options available to help make sure you get your licence next time around.
Get a 10% discount on any rebookings/additional hours with PassMeFast
Use any leftover hours to take the next test, if your instructor agrees
Get PassProtect to get 2 more practical tests attempts for the price of 1
And, if you want, we can usually arrange your new course with the same instructor and test centre!
We want to give you the top-notch service you deserve. So if anything’s going wrong, we want to fix it as soon as possible.
If you experience any issues, please call us on 0333 123 4949 and select option 2.
If you’ve got a major and/or ongoing concern, please email [email protected] where our team of expert case handlers will look into things and get back to you within 2 working days.
